What is TaxonomyByDesign?▼
TaxonomyByDesign is an AI-powered knowledge management platform. It combines a knowledge base, procedure manager, taxonomy engine, and smart search — all powered by AI that auto-classifies your content, answers questions from your knowledge base, identifies documentation gaps, and generates first drafts.
How is this different from Confluence or Notion?▼
Confluence and Notion are general-purpose tools. TaxonomyByDesign is purpose-built for knowledge management. The key differences: AI auto-classification that tags and categorizes content automatically, a taxonomy engine that maintains hierarchical structure, natural language Q&A over your entire knowledge base, and gap analysis that tells you what's missing.
What happens after the 14-day free trial?▼
Your account is paused. No charge unless you choose a plan. All your work is saved for 30 days so you can pick up where you left off.
Can I import existing documentation?▼
Yes. You can import from Markdown, HTML, Word documents, and CSV. Bulk import is available on all plans. The AI will auto-classify imported content and map it to your taxonomy during import.
Is my data secure?▼
Absolutely. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Row-level security ensures users only access what they should. Enterprise plans include SSO, audit logs, and compliance reporting. We never use your content to train AI models.
What does one "instance" include?▼
One instance is a fully self-contained AI Knowledge Manager for one division or department — supporting up to 250 users. It includes all platform features: AI auto-classification, taxonomy engine, cadence-based attestation, version control, SOP management, smart search, gap analysis, and unlimited articles and procedures. No per-user fees, no AI query limits.
